Positioning

Are you easy to understand and easy to choose?

If it takes effort to "get" you, buyers move on.

If people can't quickly understand what you do, they are less likely to choose you.

Siegel+Gale found 78% of people are more likely to recommend a brand that's simple and clear, and 64% will pay more for it.

Clarity sells. Confusion costs.

In many small businesses the offer is strong, but the message is muddy.

Too many services. Too much jargon. A website that explains everything except why to pick you.

The business knows what it does. The customer may not understand it quickly enough.

Try this. Ask someone outside the business to read your homepage for 20 seconds, then say what you do and who for.

If they can't, the problem may not be your service. It may simply be your clarity.

Then sharpen it. One clear line on who you help and what changes for them.

When you're clear, the right customers can self-select, and the wrong ones are less likely to waste your time.

Clarity can also support price. People are more comfortable paying for what they understand and trust.

Positioning isn't a slogan. It's whether a busy buyer can place you quickly and understand why you might be right for them.

When you're clear, selling gets easier, referrals get easier and price pressure can ease.

When you're vague, price becomes the easiest thing for a buyer to compare.

Say what you do, who for, and why it matters, plainly. Then repeat it consistently.

Take this to your next team meeting: could a stranger explain what we do and who we're for in one sentence?
